ParticipantIn Black Ops 7, your gunskill can be solid and you can still get farmed if you treat tacticals like a panic button instead of part of the plan, and that is where learning to set up fights with tools like a flash or stun matters just as much as raw tracking, especially if you are not living in a cheap CoD BO7 Bot Lobby where everyone stands still.
Owning Fights With Flashbangs And Concussions
Most players throw flashbangs when they are already one shot and sliding away from a gunfight, and that is why they rarely feel strong. You get more value when you treat the flash like the opening move. You hear a scope glint or know there is a head‑glitch on a power lane. Instead of ego‑challenging, you bank the flash just behind the cover so they cannot just spin and look at a wall. When it pops, you do not wait to see what happens. You swing wide, pre‑aim chest level, and commit to the kill. If you hesitate, they start to recover and the whole thing falls apart.Concussions hit a different kind of player. The cracked movement guy who is always slide‑canceling and jump‑peeking every doorway suddenly feels stuck in mud. Toss a concussion at the angle they love to chow from or onto the lane they sprint down every life. As soon as you get the hit marker, you should already be moving into the gunfight, because their strafe and turn speed are gone. It turns a sweaty duel into something closer to a basic tracking test. You do not need insane mechanics when the target can barely move.
Using Smoke To Shape The Map
Smokes look defensive, but playing scared with them usually gets you deleted. Dropping a smoke right on your feet just tells the other team, “pre‑fire this cloud.” A better way is to cut the map. Throw the smoke a bit ahead to block a sniper lane, or on the edge of a Hardpoint so you split the hill in half. You then play just outside the smoke, watching for silhouettes and outlines as players walk out trying to guess where you are. They come through half blind, you are already lined up.If you are running a thermal sight or a build that plays well with smoke, that is when you can sit inside it more confidently. Drop the smoke on the objective, keep shifting positions inside the cloud, and track white hot shapes while they see nothing but grey. It feels cheesy, but it is brutal for breaking a setup. You just have to remember to keep sliding around in the smoke so you do not turn into an easy pre‑fire once they start spamming bullets into it.
Messing With Info And Keeping Your Gun Snappy
There is also the mind‑game side that a lot of people ignore. A decoy grenade chucked into the wrong doorway can drag a camper’s crosshair off the real angle for just long enough for you to slip in from the side. It does no damage, but it corrupts the audio and minimap info they are leaning on. EMPs do the same thing in a louder way. You break their HUD, shut off a Trophy System, or fry a field upgrade, and a lot of players instantly lose focus. That tiny moment of confusion is where you slide in and finish the fight.None of this works if your weapon feels like it is stuck in slow motion. If you are playing for flash or stun kills, you want fast sprint‑to‑fire and quick ADS, stuff like lightweight builds, short barrels, and low zoom optics. You only get a couple of seconds while someone is disoriented, so if your gun takes half a second to come up, you are throwing away free picks. Objective modes like Domination and Hardpoint make this easier because routes are predictable. You learn the timings, pre‑nade common pushes, and then swing the angle the second your tactical hits.
